Long awaited shoot with our friend cherryspikes from Edinburgh, you will probably notice we have a new smoke machine :) – and we love it! We haven’t had a shoot for a few weeks now so getting back into it was a challenge but it didn’t take long and we ended up with some cracking shots, love the boxing/fighting ones… just the right amount of attitude. Pushed myself to go back to the 24-70L lens and it worked a treat… this is definitely my studio lens from now on. Trying out gels too, managed to melt a few, oops!
Will be making big changes to burfly and to my graphic design site – emohoc – over the next few weeks so stay tuned.
Thanks to cherryspikes, gilly and the bump for this shoot.

Bunch of new shots taken with our pal Cat Rennie from Edinburgh. These were shot in our home studio and on location – got through alot of looks in the one day. Cat is a posing machine and has come on leaps and bounds in the last few years since our first shoot oh so long ago and has recently been signed with a modelling agency in London – Go Cat! She brought along her good friend and make-up artist Ruth Evans who did a wonderful job with the various looks… we’re very happy with end results. Thanks to everyone.

We were commissioned by stephanie from Edinburgh on this shoot – can’t show you the whole lot at the moment but results were great. Busy over May – some exciting shoots on the horizon – If you would like to book a shoot or view our package deals click here
Also let us know what you think of our new site design. Thanks

HAPPY with this shoot – it’s great to do something a bit different from my usual style. Alan and his mate were great – effortless and oh so cool. Sarah also had fun experimenting with makeup. The location turned out to be a bit dodgy so it wasn’t one of my longest shoots but definitely one of my more productive. Our little team is developing well… we are available for all sorts of shoots so give us a shout.

Shoot number 2 of the day – very quick simple, clean and crisp style. A huge thanks to Sarah for the makeup and styling and for stepping in at the last minute, thanks to graeme and gillybean too for their hard work all day.

Had a spate of cancellations recently but the wonderful sarah once again stepped in to save the day – she also brought along cage fighter graeme who did great for his first time modelling – it was our first shoot with a guy too so a day of experimenting with lighting and a great laugh was had by all. Some of my favourite shots ever in this set.

Second shoot with Maz with just the coolest german officers cap she brought along, apparently found in a skip in germany. Shot with just one light, 430ex in 28 inch softbox. Much darker than the first set but in my opinion more successful and definitely a style I would like to pursue further.
Just to say we are always taking bookings for shoots whether TF or paid so please get in touch and we would be happy to talk over your ideas.

Maz got in touch recently through Model Mayhem, she’s really funny if a little crazy :) i felt bad cause it took her around 3 hours to get from Ayr to Dundee on the megabus with bags full of props and clothes… she soon perked up though and was great to work with. First attempt at lighting using a ringflash (a cheapy ebay one at that). I Found it pretty difficult and not my usual style but some good results in the end. She sure enjoys drumstick lollies and the whole Dennis the Menace thing looked great. Let me know what you think?

2nd shoot of the day with Sarah. She gets better and better – making our job a little easier. Going for a more playful, burlesque theme but with a bit of class. Thanks to gilly for her wonderful organisation skills and great ideas throughout the shoot… and a massive thanks to Sarah.

An impromptu shoot with our in-house MUA Sarah Robertson from Dundee and our first of 2010. Lots of Xmas goodies to play with on this shoot including brand new beauty dish and octobox. All shot in our home studio. Sarah did her own makeup. Overall I am really happy with this set and hope it’s the start of great shoots to come this year.

Slightly different from our usual stuff but I had to upload a few of the shots we got of our niece and nephew at the weekend – they are such posers and even though it was a miserable and grey day and everything was closed the shots turned out pretty good in the end, alot of fun was had and fin and lily were stars.

My favourite of all 3 sets with Kirsty Miller. All of these were shot in our home studio in Dundee, not the biggest of spaces but very versatile. Really digging this natural and simple look we’ve got going on here. the whole day turned out to be very productive and i would like to thank Ally from Macintyres Dundee, Gillybean and of course Kirsty for pushing to get this shoot done at long last.

2nd shoot of the day with Kirsty Miller, love the styling and especially the hair – too cool! Well done to Ally. Kirsty is so easy to work with and just oozes confidence, if you haven’t booked her – do it now.

Kirsty Miller got in touch ages ago to organise a shoot and we were both so busy it got delayed and delayed but we finally got to work together. She brought along ally from Mcintyres hairdressers Dundee who did an awesome job on the hair and makeup for all 3 sets. More to come – some of my favourites yet!

Wow wow wow, so happy with this shoot – you have to check the whole set, cat must have been freezing but it didn’t bother her one little bit, Sarah did such a good job with the makeup and gilly enjoyed soaking our home studio in Dundee. We’ve been experimenting with lighting alot recently and hopefully it looks a little different from our usual stuff. Cat looks killer anyways so that’s all that matters. A big thanks to everyone involved.

It’s been a while coming – another shoot with the lovely Catriona Rennie. Its was sooooooo chilly and wet so we made it brief . We shot out in the woods near Camperdown park in Dundee. We were going for quite a dramatic, theatrical feel, our inspiration was the film ‘The Village’. I’m digging the way cat’s red lipstick and hair and the rose contrast against the dark woodland setting. Thanks to Sarah again for the great makeup, we couldn’t have done it without you. Another shoot with Cat on the way.

VIEW SET (some nudity)
Last shoot of the day with CherrySpikes from Edinburgh, this was again shot in our home studio in Dundee and the 50mm really began to shine creating a lovely depth of field and producing the softness and dreaminess we were looking for, these last 3 shoots were a bit out of our comfort zone but have hopefully pulled them off and was made all the more easier with the excellent modelling skills of cherryspikes – a very productive day overall – you can view all the sets with cherry on our website and you can see her model mayhem page here. Thanks for looking.

VIEW SET (some nudity)
Second shoot of the day, playing with seamless backdrop and the most amazing shoes ever, this again was shot in our home photography studio in dundee and just goes to show you don’t need loads of space to achieve a full length clean portrait – you have to check out the whole set and look out for the star wars reference – it should make you laugh – be warned though, set contains some nudity.
